Hiking at the White Tanks
January 14, 2008
As I was looking through the Bettendorf Photo Archives, I discovered these pictures of the kids hiking at the White Tank Mountains. I used to take the kids there often; it was only 10 minutes from the house. These pictures are from three different hikes we went on back in 2004. During the Spring it was not uncommon for us to go hiking a couple times per week.

Oh, how cute!

A Poppy on the trail.

Too bad I didn’t take better pictures back then…

If you want to see water you have to go right after a rain.

Looking East.

Beautiful Children. I think that must have been Jenna’s favorite shirt.

That is Surprise down there.

Come on, Sara. It’s time to go home now.

hmmm Does Missouri have any mountians? Or is it flat like Illinois, I can’t remember seeing all tall (10,000 ft or so) Mountians in the Midwest? You hikes will be even more fun not having to watch out for cactus!! But then you have chiggers and other fun things there!!

Beautiful! I loved getting to see some Arizona territory too! Are you feeling homesick at all?

Oh, I want to live 10 minutes from that place. And hiking 12 months a year sounds good too. Kinda hits me with a hard reality too, because Jenna was my oldest’s age in those pictures and that means in a few short years she will be like Jenna is now! Goodness. Maybe when she gets married she will still live at home. :)

I love the pictures. Hubby and I were married at the beautiful white tanks 6 years ago. My favorite drive was from surprise to I10 on Cotton Lane. :)
