A Thank You to my Sweet Junie Bug
January 25, 2008

This is my daughter June. June Margaret. I love June. She is so smart and talented and beautiful and nice and sweet and funny and everything else you could possibly want in a daughter. June is one of my favorites. I have a lot of favorites. She is named after my Grandma Smith, my Mom’s Mom, whose middle name was June and my Grandma Bettendorf, my Dad’s Mom, whose first name is Margaret. My dad does not have a blog or I would have linked to it. Don’t you think he needs a blog?

Look what she colored for me today. She is seven years old.

Here she is again. My Junie Bug. The one with dry lips.
And no, I did not forget about the post I said I would write about my wonderful wife. I am just trying to buy some more time because, contrary to what she told all of you, I found a ton of pictures of her - Even one with an ’80’s perm! So I am working on scanning them… and I need to work on a poem for some crazy lady that is hitting the big 4-0 on January 3oth. I do not know how to write poems but I hope I win because she is giving away a 25lb bag of Starbucks Caffe Verona. At least that’s what she told me. Go check out her blog and tell her I sent you. On the other hand, don’t.

I wanted to join the limerick contest but I am just NO good at rhyming… ugh…. now it looks like I will miss out on a 25 lb bag of coffee… sheesh.
Junie is a DOLL… those are great shots of her… dry lips and all! :) I laugh because my Cameo is the same way… well was the same way… now she is addicted to lip gloss… haha! :)
Have a great day!

Awwhhh. Junie looks like a sweetie. Seven years old is a nice age. Still little and not too big yet. Then again, I like any age under 10. LOL. As I was reading I seen your grandmas name was Margaret. That was my grandma’s name too. She was so special too me and is still in my heart. If we would have another baby girl I would like to name her Elizabeth Margaret after her grammy.
Tell Junie Shelly said nice coloring. I have a seven yrold too. Except he’s a boy, Nathan.
Keep up the blogging. Its nice to here a fellas point of view.

I’M NOT TURNING 40!! I’M KATIE’S AGE, REMEMBER? How old is Katie again?
I can’t believe you just put a link to my blog from “some crazy lady”. Nice. (I was gritting my teeth when I said “nice”.)

That’s some good coloring! Great job, Junie!
I missed out on your limerick contest, but I may take a shot at Ginger’s. I don’t drink coffee, though. What’s a girl to do?

That first shot of June put a huge smile on my face! She is adorable and quite charming!! Aren’t those everyday gifts from our kids just the best?! =) You are blessed to have such a kind hearted little girl.
Can’t wait to see what you have up your sleeve for showing us pics of Katie! :-P

I don’t want to hijack this post, but Momma if you’d prefer a non-coffee Starbucks product, I’m happy to oblige. First you must win.
Jeff & Katie, they don’t compare to my own, of course, but you guys make some really good-looking kids. Even the ones you didn’t produce are cute. Was that part of your foster application? Cute kids only, please.

OH OH OH…I thought of something that you need to do on your blog…a photoshop class.
You guys have always done so well with your pictures and I KNOW that you know your way around photo editing…and I don’t…I am completely lame on that front (and embarrassingly I was almost a double MCSE once upon a time)…so a picture lesson…or a photo editing lesson…complete with pictures and screen shots…would be very helpful to those of us that really want to have good pictures…but don’t always.

Cute pics of Junie! You know what I saw when I saw those pictures??? I saw a “child-like Barbara Streisand smile”!! So, tell her she has a famous smile and look. :)
I like your separate blog from Katie’s, by the way. It’s a whole different perspective and it’s hilarious. The only thing I don’t really like is the name of it. Everytime I see, “Oh my dad!” I think “Oh my G–!” and that bugs me. Maybe you could think of something different??? Just a thought. : )
