The Forums are Now Open

February 20, 2008

Okay, okay.  The forums are now open.  The name of the board is The Conservative Life.  I chose, what I feel to be, the best program out there.  I am sure you will like the ease of use and functionality of it.  Go check it out - and don’t be shy!  Tell your friends about it too.

Please keep in mind that this is a new board, so there may not be categories for everything you want to post about.  If there is a topic you want to talk about and don’t see a category for it, just let me know and I will add it.

You have to be a member in order to post in a forum.  Guests cannot post at all, only have access to read certain forums and cannot see member’s profiles.

The only rules, so far, are:

1. No cussing.

2. No personal attacks.

Debates are fine as long as it doesn’t turn into flame wars.  That being said,  everything does not have to be debated.

If you have any recommendations or suggestions, feel free to start a thread in the Feedback forum if you are using the board.  If you are not using the board yet you can leave your suggestions here.

The Conservative Life

Make sure to introduce yourself in the Introduce Yourself forum!

See you there!

Is “crap” considered a cuss word?

Cool! I am going to register. Is liberal a cuss word?

  3. Jeff said:

Crap? I think it depends on the context… same with the word liberal! ;)

I’m going to register now! Great…looks like you have all the topics covered! :D

  5. Lisa said:

Jeff, why do you need such personal information when registering on your new forums? Birthday, phone number, etc.? I’d like to register but………

  6. Jeff said:

I collect that information because, although this is an open board, I want to know who it is that is posting. That information is not able to be viewed by others. It is for everyone’s safety. We do not want just anybody showing up on the board. Sometimes there are very controversial topics discussed and I don’t want a bunch of trolls sitting around reading.

Collecting that information is the first step in keeping the trolls away!

I hope that answered your question satisfactorily.

Growing up I was taught that crap is a cuss word. Seriously.

  9. Debbie said:

I did too Ginger. My mother was very strict about language.

My kiddos are not allowed to say crap. Therefore, I am not allowed to say crap now.

I remember my mom volunteered for VBS one year and I brought the children I babysit regularly. The little girl said, “My craft looks like crap!” in the middle of the class. My mom just about had a fit.

    GfG Trivia for the day.

Anyway, I’ve registered and am awaiting ‘approval’ email. Guess you have a life, Jeff, and you are not sitting around waiting to do such things.

    hee hee!

    Jeff,
I understand your security reasons, but I’m very hesitant to give out my address and phone number on the internet. Any suggestions?

  12. Crystal said:

I’m gonna have to re-register because my email wouldn’t load last night and even though I tried to respond to activate it this morning (in less than 24 hours), it seemed to think it had been more than 24 hours. Now I have to think of a new name cause it also says my first one is in use. I blame gmail for this annoyance in my day.

Okay! I am ready to go. Just waiting on the email so I can confirm. Our addresses and such are available only to you and Katie, right? Just wanted to make sure.

  14. Melanie said:

I, too, would love to join the forums, but I don’t give my address and phone number out, either. DH would DIE if I gave that information out online. Bummer. I hope you and Katie continue to post to your blogs.

I didn’t do my real address either…I think I GAVE Katie my phone number at some point…so you can have that.
